Below applicants must provide the following documents relative to Eligible Expenses depending upon the intended use of any awarded grant funds:

*note, Eligible Expenses: employee salaries (including salary paid to owner or principal business owner); rent/mortgage payments for physical location; business loan payments; equipment leases or finance payments; and utility payments incurred or anticipated to be incurred during the period commencing on March 15, 2020 and ending on August 31, 2020.

Businesses may apply for grants up to a maximum of $20,000. The amount of the grant award shall be determined as follows:

• The grant applicant shall receive up to $2,000 per employee for any employee who was an employee of the applicant (including an owner employee) as of March 15, 2020 and whom the applicant certifies shall be in the employ of the grant applicant through August 31, 2020. The purpose of this payment is to serve as a working capital contribution to the applicant and as financial assistance to allow the applicant to remain open for business.
• Up to a maximum amount equal to the difference between $20,000 and amount calculated pursuant to section (i) above which shall be used to pay for documented COVID-19 Expenses incurred or anticipated to be incurred for the period commencing on March 15, 2020 and ending on August 31, 2020 conditioned upon the applicant certifying that it shall use its best efforts to remain in business through August 31 2020.
• The final grant award amount will be calculated by the City of Hoboken pursuant to sections (i) and (ii) above and subject to the City’s final determination criteria and calculations.  

I have read the program eligibility criteria for the City of Hoboken CARES Small Business Grant Program listed at the beginning of this application, and the documentation requirements requested within this application. I understand that grants will be awarded at the discretion of the City based on the program eligibility criteria and the responses provided in this application. I understand that program funds are limited, and that submitting an application does not guarantee a grant. I further understand the City may change or terminate the program at any time, for any reason.   
 
I certify that I am authorized to sign this application as, or on behalf of, the Applicant. I agree to verify any of the information contained in this application upon request by the City. If approved for a grant, I certify that any awarded grant funds will not be used to pay for any Eligible Expenses which are or have been the subject of any insurance claims or claims made with any other funding source, whether governmental or private, and for which a reimbursement payment is actually received.
 
I agree that my business is fully responsible for determining and understanding the effect that my receipt of grant program funds, if awarded, may have on any other applications for, my business’ eligibility for, or awards from, other economic aid or relief programs from any other entity whatsoever, and I agree that by submitting this application, I and my business release the City of Hoboken from any responsibility or liability for any effect the receipt of grant funds from the City may have on such applications, eligibility, or awards from such other programs.
