Incomplete application and not providing attachments by due date will render the applicant unqualified for annual license.

If paying with check/money order, check/money orders payable to “Hoboken Parking Utility” shall be due prior to preliminary administrative approval, prior to the City Council considering the license application for final approval. You may also pay by credit card at the end of this application.

Additional information may be requested by the Department of Transportation and Parking after receipt of and review of the application and its attachments.

Responsible Individual

The Responsible Individual is the person representing the business and is accountable for all aspects of the license for the operator. The Responsible Individual must be knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws and regulations related to the tow and recovery services the license offers and renders, and for ensuring that the operator conforms to them. The Responsible Individual is either the principal owner or chief executive officer of the business entity, or manager of business operations for the operator. Additionally, they should be readily available and able to timely respond to any and all inquiries from the City. By including their name and signature below, the person agrees to be held personally liable for any violations of local ordinances by the Licensee.

7. Does the Responsible Individual certify its understanding of Hoboken City Code Chapter 184, and that its towing service license will comply with all local licensing requirements per Hoboken City Code Chapter 184?

8. Does the Responsible Individual certify that each and every driver employed or contracted by its towing services license to drive tow trucks, will at all times have a current and valid driver’s license applicable for operation of tow trucks at all times?

9. Does the Responsible Individual certify that each and every vehicle/equipment utilized or contracted by the towing services licensee will at all times have a current and valid registration and insurance for operation of said vehicle(s)?

10. Does the Responsible Individual certify that proof of ownership or similar property rights for any and all storage sites which provides the licensee with control over the site will maintained during the license term, and shall be made available immediately upon City request?

16. Does the Responsible Individual certify that all internal software systems used for towing services will be internet capable and that the applicant will, at their own cost and expense, purchase and utilize software which compatible with the City’s towing software system?

17. Does the Responsible Individual certify that the storage site will be operated in accordance with the regular business hours and after-hours required by the Director and the City Code, which shall be provided to the licensee upon application approval?

18. Does the Responsible Individual certify that the licensee will arrive where summonsed and provide towing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, within 15 minutes of being summoned upon each and every valid summons?

19. Does the Responsible Individual certify that all requirement listed in City Code Chapter 184 will be maintained during the term of licensee?

20. Does the Responsible Individual certify that no sworn member of the City of Hoboken Police Department owns greater than 10% of the towing service licensed by the City under the licenses hereunder applied for?
